Control Circuit Inspection

■ Check short to battery in harness

IG "OFF" & Disconnect EWGA connector and ECM connector.
IG "ON" & ENG "OFF".
Measure voltage between control terminal of EWGA heater harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification:

(+) terminal: Approx. 0V

(-) terminal: Approx. 0V
Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
- Go to "Check short to ground in harness" procedure below.
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

■ Check short to ground in harness

IG "OFF" & Disconnect EWGA connector and ECM connector.
Measure resistance between control terminal of EWGA heater harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification:

(+) terminal: Infinite

(-) terminal: Infinite
Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
- Go to "COMPONENT INSPECTION " procedure.
NO
- Repair or replace as necessary and then, go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
