Oil Pressure Sending Unit (Gauge): Sonata

  1. Unplug sending unit harness connector. See OIL PRESSURE SWITCH/SENDING UNIT LOCATION  . Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between sending unit terminal and ground. High resistance indicates no oil pressure. Low resistance indicates oil pressure is present.
  2. Check engine oil pressure with a known-good manual oil pressure tester gauge. Compare with instrument cluster oil gauge reading. If gauge does not register properly, replace sending unit.
