Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission fluid cooler lines to the vehicle.
  2. Install the transmission fluid cooler lines to the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  3. NOTE: Ensure that the cooler line being installed has a plastic cap on each end that connects to a quick connect fitting. If no plastic cap exists, or the plastic cap is damaged, obtain a new plastic cap and position on to the cooler line prior to the cooler line installation.

  4. Raise the transmission into position.
  5. Install the front exhaust pipe assembly. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LLR) .
  6. Install the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement .
  7. Remove the transmission jack.
  8. Install the clip (2) that holds the transmission fluid cooler lines together.
  9. Install the transmission fluid cooler lines to the right side of the engine.
  10. Install the transmission fluid cooler line to the retainer located on the radiator.
  11. Install the transmission fluid cooler lines to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON® III transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
