Removal Procedure

- Place the door window in the full up position.
- Remove the rear side door trim. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Extended Wheelbase) , Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Standard Wheelbase) .
- Remove the rear side door pull handle bracket.
- Remove the rear side door water deflector.
- Use the appropriate tool, open the rear side door handle rod clip (1) on the latch.
- Remove the old outside door handle rod clip (1) from the door latch.
- Remove the door lock key cylinder rod from the handle.
- Remove the rear side door outside handle bolts (3).
- Remove the rear side door outside handle from the door (4).
- Remove the door lock blank cylinder from the handle. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement .
NOTE:
The clip for the outside door handle rod is designed for one use only, a new clip Must be installed to the door latch to retain the outside handle rod.
NOTE:
Use the appropriate tool to push in on the retaining tabs located on each side of the old clip to remove.
