Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2012 GMC Yukon XL, 2012 GMC Yukon, 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2012 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Feed the front parking brake cable through the floor panel and install the parking brake lever pedal and front cable assembly.

  3. Install the parking brake lever pedal assembly to the studs on the hinge pillar panel.
  4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install the parking brake lever pedal nuts (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  6. Connect the parking brake indicator switch electrical connector.
  7. Install the parking brake release handle, if equipped. Refer to Parking Brake Release Handle Assembly Replacement .

  9. Install the front parking brake cable pass-through grommet (1) to the floor panel.
  10. Ensure the pass-through grommet is fully seated in the floor panel.
  11. Carefully position the front floor carpet to the floor panel.
  12. Install the left side instrument panel electrical center/junction block. Refer to Instrument Panel Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement - Left Side .
  13. Install the left side body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement .
  14. Raise and support the vehicle.

  16. Install the front parking brake cable to the frame.
  17. Ensure the front parking brake cable conduit (1) locking tabs are fully engaged in the frame.

  19. Connect the front parking brake cable (1) to the intermediate cable connector.
  20. Lower the vehicle.
  21. Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment (1500) , Parking Brake Adjustment (2500) .
