Low and Reverse Clutch Backing Plate Retaining Ring Measurement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Install DT-47868-1  pack travel weight and DT-47868-4  travel weight adapter onto the low and reverse clutch backing plate.
  2. Attach the GE 8001  dial indicator set to the GE 26900-13  magnetic base and zero out the dial indicator on the DT-47868-1  pack travel weight.

Special Tools

  • DT-47868-1  Pack Travel Weight
  • DT-47868-4  Clutch Travel Weight Adapter
  • GE 8001  Dial Indicator Set
  • GE 26900-13  Magnetic Base
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
1 Low and Reverse Backing Plate Retaining Ring
TIP:  Apply compressed air to the apply passage hole, at least 3 times and observe the dial indicator measurement each time. This action "fluffs" the clutch plates to ensure an accurate measurement. Refer to Clutch Backing Plate Retaining Ring Specifications (6L90) , Clutch Backing Plate Retaining Ring Specifications (6L80) .
