Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission oil cooler lines to the vehicle.

    CAUTION:

    Do not use air powered tools in order to disassemble or assemble any vehicle component. Bolt torques are vital to diagnosis. You can detect bolt torques only when using hand tools. Improper bolt torques can contribute to vehicle repair problems.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the right shock rear mounting bolt on the lower control arm. Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the right differential carrier mounting nuts and washers. Tighten the mounting nuts to 100 N.m (75 lb ft).
  6. Install the cooling lines to the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .

  8. Install the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Install the transmission fluid cooler inlet pipe (1) to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  11. Install the transmission fluid cooler outlet pipe (2) to the auxiliary oil cooler. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  12. Install the front upper fascia support bracket. Refer to Front Upper Fascia Support Bracket Replacement .
  13. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Yukon) , Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Escalade) , Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Tahoe) , Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Avalanche) , Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (Z71) .
