Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the park brake cable automatic adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling .
    2. Fig 1: Park Brake Cable & Actuator Lever

  2. Disconnect the park brake cable from the park brake actuator lever.
  3. Remove the park brake shoe. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (2500 Series) , Parking Brake Shoe Replacement (1500 Series) .
  4. Remove the rear axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement .

  5. Remove the park brake backing plate bolts.
  6. Remove the park brake backing plate from the disc brake backing plate.
