Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Cadillac Escalade) , Headlamp Replacement (Tahoe, Avalanche) , Headlamp Replacement (Chevrolet Tahoe Two-mode Hybrid) , Headlamp Replacement (Escalade PLATINUM) , Headlamp Replacement (Non HID) , Headlamp Replacement (Yukon) , Headlamp Replacement (GMC Yukon Two-mode Hybrid) .
  2. Remove the grille support. Refer to Radiator Grille Reinforcement Support Replacement .
  3. Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement .
1 Hood Latch Release Cable Nut
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Hood Latch Release Cable
  • Release the cable from the latch assembly and pull through the dash panel.
  • Attach mechanics wire to existing cable to ease installation of the new cable.
