Liftgate Replacement (Except Avalanche and EXT Escalade)

Preliminary Procedures Disconnect the strut rods. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement (Except Avalanche and EXT Escalade) . Remove the rear door upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Door Upper Garnish Molding Replacement . Disconnect the liftgate actuator rod. Refer to Liftgate Actuator Rod Replacement (Except Avalanche and EXT Escalade) . Disconnect the electrical connectors.
1	Liftgate Body Side Hinge Nuts (Qty: 4) NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Tighten: 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
2	Liftgate Assembly Tip: Calibrate the power liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Calibration (Except Avalanche and EXT Escalade) .

Remove the rear door upper garnish molding. Refer to Rear Door Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
Disconnect the liftgate actuator rod. Refer to Liftgate Actuator Rod Replacement (Except Avalanche and EXT Escalade) .
Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Liftgate Body Side Hinge Nuts (Qty: 4)

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten: 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

Liftgate Assembly
Tip: Calibrate the power liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Calibration (Except Avalanche and EXT Escalade) .
