Hood Hinge Replacement

Callout Component Name
CAUTION: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement .
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the hood open assist spring. Refer to Hood Open Assist Spring Replacement .
1 Hood Upper Hinge Bolt
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)

2 Hood Upper Hinge
3 Hood Lower Hinge Welds
CAUTION: When working with any type of glass or sheet metal with exposed or rough edges, wear approved safety glasses and gloves in order to reduce the chance of personal injury.

Procedure: 
Locate and drill out all factory welds. Note weld are only for factory processing purposes. The replacement hinge does not need to be welded, just bolted on.
4 Hood Lower Hinge Bolt (Qty: 3)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)
