Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2007 GMC Yukon XL, 2007 GMC Yukon, 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the wheel drive shaft in the steering knuckle.
- Install the NEW nut (1) and washer (2).
- Install the retaining bolts and finger tighten.
- Insert a drift or large screwdriver through the brake caliper into one of the brake rotor vanes in order to prevent the wheel drive shaft from turning.
- Tighten the wheel driver shaft retaining bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the retaining bolts to 79 N.m (58 lb ft).
- Tighten the wheel drive shaft retaining nut.
Tighten: Tighten the retaining nut to 240 N.m (177 lb ft).
- Remove the drift or large screwdriver from the brake rotor.
- Install the shock module. Refer to Shock Module Replacement .
- Install the stabilizer shaft link from the lower control arm. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (1500 Series) or Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (2500 Series) .
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Lower the vehicle.
IMPORTANT:
Install the NEW nut and washer, but DO NOT tighten at this time.
