Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2007 GMC Yukon XL, 2007 GMC Yukon, 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the front grille. Refer to Fascia Grille Replacement (Suburban) or Fascia Grille Replacement (Yukon) or Fascia Grille Replacement (Escalade) or Fascia Grille Replacement (Tahoe Z71) .
  2. Remove the radiator air baffle and deflector-upper. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement (Cadillac) or Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement (Yukon) .
  3. Remove the radiator grille reinforcement support. Refer to Support Replacement - Radiator Grille Reinforcement .

  5. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  6. Siphon the fluid from the reservoir to prevent excess spillage.
  7. Remove the clamp and disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose (3) to the power steering gear (2).
  8. Remove the clamp and disconnect the power steering cooler hose (5) to the power steering pump (1).

  10. Remove the bolts (2) retaining the power steering cooler from the radiator support.
  11. Remove the power steering cooler from the vehicle.
