Installation Procedure

  1. Install the crossmember to the vehicle.
  2. Perform the following procedure before installing the bolts.
    • Remove all traces of the original adhesive patch.
    • Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
    • Apply Threadlocker GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488).
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the bolts and the nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 90 N.m (66 lb ft).

  4. Remove the differential support.

  5. Install the differential mounting nut, bolt, and washer. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement .
  6. Install the underbody shields. Refer to Catalytic Converter Guard Replacement .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
