Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove the liftgate door sill plate. Refer to Liftgate Sill Trim Plate Replacement .
  3. Mark the location of the striker with a grease pencil.
    4. Fig 1: Liftgate Lock Striker

    IMPORTANT: Using a grease pencil, mark the strikers location prior to removal.
  4. Remove fasteners from the striker (1).
  5. Remove the striker and shims, if equipped, from the vehicle.
