Rewriting the ODO Data and Transferring the Service Reminder System Data to a New Gauge Control Module: Procedure

How to use this manual .

NOTE: 

  1. Rewriting the ODO Data on a New Gauge Control Module - Procedure

    Rewriting and Transferring 

    1. Before replacing the gauge control module, connect the HDS

    2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    3. Select the following menu buttons on the HDS screen in sequence.

    1. Body Electrical (System Selection Menu)
    2. Gauges
    3. Adjustment
    4. Gauge Control Module Replacement

    4. Select "Read Out Data" and following the instructions on the HDS display and save value data into HDS.

    5. Replace the gauge control module .

    6. Select "Write Data" and following the instructions on the HDS display. If the data transfer fails, refer to the instructions below to release the locked value.

    How to Release Locked Odometer Mileage to the Original Gauge Control Module. 

    If, after you attempt to transfer mileage to a new gauge control module, the odometer display has dashes (- - -), is garbled, or shows an incorrect value, the original gauge control module can be unlocked and restored to its original state and can be used again for additional attempts to transfer the mileage:

    1. With the vehicle in the OFF (LOCK) mode, connect the original gauge control module.

    2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    3. Completely re-boot the HDS.

    4. Clear any stored DTCs.

    5. Select the following menu buttons on the HDS screen in sequence.

    1. Body Electrical (System Selection Menu)
    2. Gauges
    3. Adjustment
    4. Gauge Control Module Replacement
    5. Odo Lock Release

    6. Follow the prompts and the odometer mileage will be restored.

    7. Start over the Rewriting and Transferring procedure from step 1.
