INTERMEDIATE SHAFT (9-Speed A/T): Removal

  1. Engine Undercover - Remove
  2. Transmission Fluid - Drain - Go to: ATF Replacement (9-Speed A/T),
  3. Right Driveshaft - Remove 
  4. Intermediate Shaft - Remove

    		 1. Remove the under-floor TWC.
    Under-Floor TWC Removal and Installation or
    Warm Up TWC Removal and Installation
    2. Remove the stiffener plate Subframe Removal
    3. Remove the heat shield bolts (A).

    		 4. Remove the intermediate shaft bolts (A).

    5. Remove the intermediate shaft and the heat shield assembly (B).


    NOTE:  Hold the intermediate shaft horizontal until it is clear of the differential to prevent damaging the oil seal (C).
