NOTE:

- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
12 Volt Battery Test (With Auto Idle Stop System) or
12 Volt Battery Test (Without Auto Idle Stop System) .
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- 2. Make sure the volume is not set to the MIN level, and check for sound in all modes (AM/FM, USB, AUX, and CD).
Is there sound in all modes, and is the sound normal?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
NO: No sound is heard in all modes
The failure is duplicated in all modes, go to step 2.
NO: No sound is heard in AM/FM mode. (display audio type). Go to:
NO: No sound is heard in AM/FM mode. (color audio type) Go to:
NO: No sound is heard in USB mode
USB Device Does Not Function (With Navigation, With Auto Idle Stop System) (2016 2017 2018)

NO: No sound is heard in AUX mode
Auxiliary Input Sound Is Low Or Cannot Be Heard (With Navigation) (2016 2017 2018)
NO: No sound is heard in CD mode
- Speaker visual check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Check the speaker(s) with no sound for any damage.
Is there any damage?
YES
Replace the faulty speaker(s) - Refer to:
Speaker Removal, Installation and Test (2016 2017 2018)
NO
Go to step 3.
- Speaker internal resistance check
-1. Test the speaker(s).
Is the speaker(s) OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Replace the faulty speaker(s) - Refer to:
- Wire check (FL SP +/-, FR SP +/-, RL SP +/-, RR SP +/-, SUBW +/- lines)
-1. Disconnect the following connectors.
Audio unit connector A (24P) Audio unit connector E (8P) Left tweeter 2P connector Right tweeter 2P connector - 2. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector A (24P) disconnected Audio unit connector E (8P) disconnected Left tweeter 2P connector: disconnected Right tweeter 2P connector: disconnected Speaker Test point 1: Audio unit connector A (24P) -

Repair an open or short in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the speaker(s).
- Shorted wire check (FL SP +/-, FR SP +/-, RL SP +/-, RR SP +/-, SUBW +/- lines)
-1. Disconnect the following connectors.
Driver's door speaker 2P connector Front passenger's door speaker 2P connector Left rear door speaker 2P connector Right rear door speaker 2P connector Subwoofer 2P connector - 2. Check for continuity between following test points and body ground individually.

- Open wire check (FL SP +/- (Tweeter), FR SP +/- (Tweeter) lines)
-1. Connect terminals A and B with jumper wires.
- 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
