DTC (Electric Powertrain)
- DTC check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame U0081 EP-CAN 2 Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module A Bus-Off) U0081 EP-CAN 2 Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module B Bus-Off) Is DTC U0081 indicated?
YES
Go to the DTC U0081 troubleshooting .
NO
Go to step 2.
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame U160D EP-CAN2 Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module B - Battery Condition Monitor Module A) U1611 EP-CAN2 Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module A - Battery Condition Monitor Module B) Is DTC U160D or U1611 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- Open wire check (EPP-CAN B_H line, EPP-CAN B_L line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-3. Remove the service plug .
-4. Remove the IPU .
-5. Remove the IPU cover .
-6. Disconnect the following connectors.
Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) Battery condition monitor module B connector G (24P) -7. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P): disconnected Battery condition monitor module B connector G (24P): disconnected Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) No. 10 Test point 2 Battery condition monitor module B connector G (24P) No. 10 Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) No. 22 Test point 2 Battery condition monitor module B connector G (24P) No. 22 Is there continuity?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Repair an open in the EPP-CAN B_H wire and/or the EPP-CAN B_L wire between battery condition monitor module A and battery condition monitor module B.
- Battery condition monitor module B check
-1. Substitute a known-good battery condition monitor module B .
-2. Reconnect all connectors.
-3. Install the IPU cover .
-4. Install the IPU .
-5. Install the service plug .
-6. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure .
-7. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-8. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-9. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-10. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-11. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame U160D EP-CAN2 Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module B - Battery Condition Monitor Module A) U1611 EP-CAN2 Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module A - Battery Condition Monitor Module B) Is DTC U160D or U1611 indicated?
YES
Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good battery condition monitor module A .
NO
