DTC (Electric Powertrain)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame U0081 EP-CAN 2 Malfunction (Battery Condition Monitor Module A Bus-Off) Is DTC U0081 indicated?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at battery condition monitor module A and battery condition monitor module B. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- Shorted wire check (EPP-CAN B_H line to EPP-CAN B_L line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-3. Remove the service plug .
-4. Remove the IPU .
-5. Remove the IPU cover .
-6. Disconnect the following connectors.
Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) Battery condition monitor module B connector G (24P) -7. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P): disconnected Battery condition monitor module B connector G (24P): disconnected Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) No. 10 Test point 2 Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) No. 22 Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short in the EPP-CAN B_H to EPP-CAN B_L wires between battery condition monitor module A and battery condition monitor module B.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Shorted wire check (EPP-CAN B_H line, EPP-CAN B_L line)
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P): disconnected Battery condition monitor module B connector G (24P): disconnected Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) No. 10 Test point 2 Body ground Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) No. 22 Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
Repair a short in the EPP-CAN B_H wire and/or the EPP-CAN B_L wire between battery condition monitor module A and battery condition monitor module B.
NO
Go to step 4.
- Battery condition monitor module B check
-1. Reconnect battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P).
NOTE: Do not connect battery condition monitor module B connector G (24P).-2. Install the IPU cover .
-3. Install the IPU .
-4. Install the service plug .
-5. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure .
-6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-7. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-8. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-9. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-10. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

YES
Check for any authorized service information related to the DTC(s) or symptoms you are troubleshooting or substitute a known-good battery condition monitor module A .
NO
Check for any authorized service information related to the DTC(s) or symptoms you are troubleshooting or substitute a known-good battery condition monitor module B .
