Steering Lock Removal and Installation: Removal

WARNING:

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations , and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

1. Immobilizer-Keyless Control Unit - Remove (Without Keyless Access System)
2. Steering Column - Remove 
3. Steering Lock - Remove

   1. Center-punch both of the two shear bolts (A). 2. Drill their heads off with a 5 mm (0.20 in) drill bit. Be careful not to damage the steering lock when removing the shear bolts. NOTE:  The shear bolts have left-hand threads. 3. Remove the steering lock (B).
