DTC P1E46-00  : Electric Servo Brake Control Unit Internal Circuit Malfunction (FET Stuck ON)

DTC P1E47-00  : Electric Servo Brake Control Unit Internal Circuit Malfunction (FET Stuck OFF)

DTC P1E48-00  : Slave Cylinder Drive Motor Current Malfunction (Offset)

DTC P1E4A-00  : Slave Cylinder Drive Motor Current Malfunction (Over Current)

DTC P1E4C-00  : Slave Cylinder Drive Motor Power Source Circuit High Voltage

DTC (Electric servo brake)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.

    -4. Wait 1 second or more without pressing the brake pedal.

    -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    P1E4A-00 Slave Cylinder Drive Motor Current Malfunction (Over Current)    
    P1E4C-00 Slave Cylinder Drive Motor Power Source Circuit High Voltage    

    Is DTC P1E46-00, P1E47-00, P1E48-00, P1E4A-00, or P1E4C-00 indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting . If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. Shorted wire check (MV, MU, MW lines to power) 1

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode with driver's door open.

    -2. Wait for 3 minutes.

    NOTE:  Do not close the driver's door.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector

    -4. Measure the voltage between the following test points and body ground individually.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector: disconnected
    Connector Test point 1 Test point 2
    Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector No. 1 Body ground
    No. 2
    No. 3

    Is there 0.1 V or more?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Go to step 4.

  3. Shorted wire check (MV, MU, MW lines to power) 2

    -1. Disconnect the following connector.

    Tandem motor cylinder 9P connector

    -2. Measure the voltage between the following test points and body ground individually.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector: disconnected
      Tandem motor cylinder 9P connector: disconnected
    Connector Test point 1 Test point 2
    Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector No. 1 Body ground
    No. 2
    No. 3

    Is there 0.1 V or more?

    YES 

    Repair a short to power in the wire between the electric servo brake control unit and the tandem motor cylinder.

    NO 

    Replace the motor .

  4. Shorted wire check (MV, MU, MW lines) 1

    -1. Measure the resistance between the following test points and body ground individually.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector: disconnected
    Connector Test point 1 Test point 2
    Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector No. 1 Body ground
    No. 2
    No. 3

    Is there 1 MΩ or more?

    YES 

    Go to step 6.

    NO 

    Go to step 5.

  5. Shorted wire check (MV, MU, MW lines) 2

    -1. Disconnect the following connector.

    Tandem motor cylinder 9P connector

    -2. Measure the resistance between the following test points and body ground individually.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector: disconnected
      Tandem motor cylinder 9P connector: disconnected
    Connector Test point 1 Test point 2
    Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector No. 1 Body ground
    No. 2
    No. 3

    Is there 1 MΩ or more?

    YES 

    Replace the motor .

    NO 

    Repair a short to body ground in the wire between electric servo brake control unit and the tandem motor cylinder.

  6. Shorted wire check (MV, MU, MW lines wire to wire)

    -1. Disconnect the following connector.

    Tandem motor cylinder 9P connector

    -2. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2 individually.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector: disconnected
      Tandem motor cylinder 9P connector: disconnected
    Connector Test point 1 Test point 2
    Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector No. 1 No. 2
    No. 3
    No. 2 No. 1
    No. 3
    No. 3 No. 1
    No. 2

    Is there 1 MΩ or more?

    YES 

    Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the electric servo brake control unit 22P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the electric servo brake control unit/pedal feel simulator .

    NO 

    Repair a short in the wires between the electric servo brake control unit and the tandem motor cylinder.
