DTC P057C-00, P1E25-00

DTC P057C-00  : Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Circuit Low Voltage

DTC P1E25-00  : Brake Pedal Stroke Redundant Sensor Circuit Low Voltage

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC (Electric servo brake)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.

    -4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC P057C-00 or P1E25-00 indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting . If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. Open wire check (ESB_SVCC line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode with driver's door open.

    -2. Wait for 3 minutes.

    NOTE:  Do not close the driver's door.

    -3. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector
    Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
      Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector (female terminals) No. 1:
    Test point 2 Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector No. 12

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The ESB_SVCC wire is OK. Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between electric servo brake control unit and the brake pedal stroke sensor.

  3. Open wire check (ESV_SGND line)

    -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
      Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector No. 9
    Test point 2 Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector (female terminals) No. 4:

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The ESV_SGND wire is OK. Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between the electric servo brake control unit and the brake pedal stroke sensor.

  4. Shorted wire check (BPS, BPSR line)

    -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
      Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector: disconnected
    Test circuit 1  
    Test point 1 Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector (female terminals) No. 2:
    Test point 2 Body ground
    Test circuit 2  
    Test point 1 Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector (female terminals) No. 3:
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there 1 MΩ or more?

    YES 

    The BPS and BPSR wires are not shorted to ground. Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Repair a short to ground in the wire between electric servo brake control unit and the brake pedal stroke sensor.

  5. Open wire check (BPS, BPSR line)

    -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector: disconnected
      Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector: disconnected
    Test circuit 1  
    Test point 1 Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector No. 8
    Test point 2 Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector (female terminals) No. 2:
    Test circuit 2  
    Test point 1 Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector No. 11
    Test point 2 Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector (female terminals) No. 3:

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The BPS and BPSR wires are OK. Go to step 6.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the wire between electric servo brake control unit and the brake pedal stroke sensor.

  6. Brake pedal stroke sensor check

    -1. Substitute a known-good brake pedal .

    -2. Reconnect the following connectors.

    Brake pedal stroke sensor 4P connector
    Electric servo brake control unit 22P connector

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.

    -6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame
         

    Is P057C-00 or P1E25-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the electric servo brake control unit 22P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the electric servo brake control unit/pedal feel simulator .

    NO 

    Replace the original brake pedal .
