DTC P158A (1095)

DTC P158A  : HV Battery Current Sensor Correlation

NOTE:  Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame
P158A HV Battery Current Sensor Correlation      

DTC (Electric Powertrain)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the READY TO DRIVE mode.

    -5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

    P158A HV Battery Current Sensor Correlation      

    Is DTC P158A indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. Open wire check (SGISOC line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Remove the service plug and the IPU cover .

    -3. Remove the IPU and the IPU case .

    -4. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P)
    Battery current sensor 4P connector

    -5. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected
      Battery current sensor 4P connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 29
    Test point 2 Battery current sensor 4P connector (female terminals) No. 4:

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    Go to step 3

    NO 

    Repair an open in the SGISOC wire between the battery current sensor and the battery condition monitor module (E29).

  3. Battery current sensor check

    -1. Substitute a known-good battery current sensor .

    -2. All removed parts install to the IPU, then install the IPU .

    -3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the READY TO DRIVE mode.

    -6. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC P158A indicated?

    YES 

    Replace the battery condition monitor module .

    NO 

    Replace the original battery current sensor .
