DTC P0B54 (1052)

DTC P0B54  : HV Battery Cell Voltage Sense Circuit 6

NOTE:  Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame
P0B54 HV Battery Cell Voltage Sense Circuit 6      

DTC (Electric Powertrain)

  1. Problem verification (DTC check)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

    P0B54 HV Battery Cell Voltage Sense Circuit 6      

    Is DTC P0B54 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the battery module the battery condition monitor module. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. Problem verification (update)

    -1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -2. Do the battery condition monitor module update procedure .

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

    P0B54 HV Battery Cell Voltage Sense Circuit 6      

    Is DTC P0B54 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    The update is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.

  3. Open wire check (VHB subharness)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Remove the service plug and the IPU cover .

    -3. Remove the IPU and the IPU case .

    -4. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Battery condition monitor module connector D (16P)
    Battery module 4 28P connector

    -5. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Battery condition monitor module connector D (16P): disconnected
      Battery module 4 28P connector: disconnected
    Circuit name Test point 1 (Battery condition monitor module connector D (16P) ) Test point 2 (Battery module 4 28 connector (male terminals)):
    VH60 No. 9 No. 7
    VH61 No. 1 No. 19
    VH62 No. 10 No. 8
    VH63 No. 2 No. 20
    VH64 No. 11 No. 9
    VH65 No. 3 No. 21
    VH66 No. 12 No. 10
    VH67 No. 4 No. 22
    VH68 No. 13 No. 11
    VH69 No. 5 No. 23
    VH70 No. 14 No. 12
    Circuit name Test point 1 (Battery condition monitor module connector D (16P) ) Test point 2 (Battery module 4 28 connector (male terminals)):
    VH71 No. 6 No. 24
    VH72 No. 15 No. 13

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The VHB subharness is OK. Replace the battery condition monitor module and the battery pack .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the VHB subharness between the battery condition monitor module and the battery module.
