DTC P0AA7  : HV Battery Voltage Isolation Sensor Circuit

NOTE:  Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame
P0AA7 HV Battery Voltage Isolation Sensor Circuit      

DTC (Electric Powertrain)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 12 seconds.

    -3. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0AA7 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

    P0AA7 HV Battery Voltage Isolation Sensor Circuit  

    Does the HDS indicate FAILED?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    If the HDS indicates PASSED, the system is OK at this time but has an intermittent failure. If the HDS indicates NOT COMPLETED, keep the vehicle in the ON mode until an indication comes on. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. Open wire check (BATT+ line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Remove the service plug and the IPU cover .

    -3. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Battery condition monitor module connector A (28P)
    Subjunction board connector A (5P)

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Battery condition monitor module connector A (28P): disconnected
      Subjunction board connector A (5P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module connector A (28P) No. 15
    Test point 2 Subjunction board connector A (5P) (female terminals) No. 5:

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the BATT+ wire between the battery condition monitor module (A15) and the subjunction board.

  3. Open wire check (BATT- line)

    -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      Battery condition monitor module connector A (28P): disconnected
      Subjunction board connector A (5P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module connector A (28P) No. 4
    Test point 2 Subjunction board connector A (5P) (female terminals) No. 1:

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The BATT- wire is OK. Replace the subjunction board , then recheck. If DTC P0AA7 is still indicated, replace the battery condition monitor module .

    NO 

    Repair an open in the BATT- wire between the battery condition monitor module (A4) and the subjunction board.
