DTC P0A9E  : HV Battery Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High

DTC P0AC8  : HV Battery Temperature Sensor 2 Circuit High

DTC P0ACD  : HV Battery Temperature Sensor 3 Circuit High

DTC P0AEB  : HV Battery Temperature Sensor 4 Circuit High

NOTE:  Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC (Electric Powertrain)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Check the parameter(s) of the corresponding DTC below with the HDS.

    Do the current condition(s) match the threshold?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

  2. Determine possible failure area (TBATT line, SGTB line)

    -1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

    Are DTC P0A9E, P0AC8, P0ACD, P0AEB, and P0BC5 indicated at the same time?

    YES 

    Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. Open wire check (TBATT line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Remove the service plug and the IPU cover .

    -3. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Battery condition monitor module connector F (12P)
    DTC P0A9E: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector A (2P)
    DTC P0AC8: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector B (2P)
    DTC P0ACD, P0AEB: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector C (4P)

    -4. Check for continuity between appropriate DTC's test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      DTC P0A9E: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector A (2P) : disconnected
      DTC P0AC8: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector B (2P): disconnected
      DTC P0ACD, P0AEB: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector C (4P)
      Battery condition monitor module connector F (12P): disconnected

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Repair an open in the TBATT wire between the battery condition monitor module and the high voltage battery module temperature sensor.

  4. Open wire check (SGTB line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Remove the service plug and the IPU cover .

    -3. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Battery condition monitor module connector F (12P)
    DTC P0A9E: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector A (2P)
    DTC P0AC8: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector B (2P)
    DTC P0ACD, P0AEB: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector C (4P)

    -4. Check for continuity between appropriate DTC's test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      DTC P0A9E: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector A (2P): disconnected
      DTC P0AC8: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector B (2P): disconnected
      DTC P0ACD, P0AEB: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector C (4P): disconnected
      Battery condition monitor module connector F (12P): disconnected

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Repair an open in SGTB wire between the battery condition monitor module and the high voltage battery module temperature sensor.

  5. High voltage battery module temperature sensor check

    -1. At the sensor side, measure the resistance between appropriate DTC's test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
      DTC P0A9E: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector A (2P): disconnected
      DTC P0AC8: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector B (2P): disconnected
      DTC P0ACD, P0AEB: High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector C (4P): disconnected
      Battery condition monitor module connector F (12P): disconnected
    DTC High voltage battery module temperature sensor connector Test point 1 Test point 2

    Is resistance value within the range?

    YES 

    The high voltage battery module temperature sensor is OK. Replace the battery condition monitor module .

    NO 

    Replace the following high voltage battery module temperature sensor .

    • DTC P0A9E: High voltage battery module temperature sensor A
    • DTC P0AC8: High voltage battery module temperature sensor B
    • DTC P0ACD, P0AEB: High voltage battery module temperature sensor C
