DTC P0A82 : HV Battery Pack Cooling Fan Performance/Stuck Off

DTC (Electric Powertrain)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-5. Select the BATTERY FAN TEST in the Electric Powertrain FUNCTION TEST with the HDS, then select START.
Battery Fan Test
Is the high voltage battery module fan OK?
YES
Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
NO
Go to step 2.
- Fuse check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Check the following fuse.
Fuse No. A4-4 Is the fuse OK?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Replace the No. A4-4 fuse. Also check for a short to ground on the No. A4-4 fuse circuit if needed.
- Relay check
-1. Remove the service plug and the IPU cover .
-2. Remove the battery fan relay .
-3. Test the battery fan relay .
Is the relay OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Replace the battery fan relay.
- Open wire check (+B_IGA2 line)
-1. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure .
-2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery fan relay: disconnected Test point 1 Battery fan relay 4P socket (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
Go to step 5
NO
Repair an open in the +B_IGA2 wire between the No. A4-4 fuse and the battery fan relay.
- Open wire check (IGB line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Battery fan relay: disconnected Test point 1 Battery fan relay 4P socket (female terminal) No. 3: Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
Go to step 6.
NO
Repair an open in the IGB wire between the IGHLDB relay and the battery fan relay.
- Open wire check (NFAN line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-3. Disconnect the following connectors.
High voltage battery module fan 4P connector Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Battery fan relay: disconnected High voltage battery module fan 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 High voltage battery module fan 4P connector (female terminals) No. 3: Test point 2 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 14 Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 7.
NO
Repair an open in the NFAN wire between the high voltage battery module fan and the battery condition monitor module (E14).
- Shorted wire check (NFAN line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Battery fan relay: disconnected High voltage battery module fan 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 High voltage battery module fan 4P connector (female terminals) No. 3: Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1 MΩ or more?
YES
Go to step 8.
NO
Repair a short in the NFAN wire between the high voltage battery module fan and the battery condition monitor module (E14).
- Open wire check (FANCTL line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Battery fan relay: disconnected High voltage battery module fan 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 High voltage battery module fan 4P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 24 Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 9.
NO
Repair an open in the FANCTL wire between the high voltage battery module fan and the battery condition monitor module (E24).
- Shorted wire check (FANCTL line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Battery fan relay: disconnected High voltage battery module fan 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 High voltage battery module fan 4P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1 MΩ or more?
YES
Go to step 10.
NO
Repair a short in the FANCTL wire between the high voltage battery module fan and the battery condition monitor module (E24).
- Open wire check (FAN_GND line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Battery fan relay: disconnected High voltage battery module fan 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 High voltage battery module fan 4P connector (female terminals) No. 1: Test point 2 Body ground (G701) Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 11
NO
Repair an open in the FAN_GND wire between the high voltage battery module fan and G701.
- Open wire check (IGA2 line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Battery fan relay: disconnected High voltage battery module fan 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 High voltage battery module fan 4P connector (female terminals) No. 4: Test point 2 Battery fan relay 4P socket (female terminal) No. 1: Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 12
NO
Repair an open in the IGA2 wire between the high voltage battery module fan and the battery fan relay.
- Open wire check (IGHLD2 line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Battery fan relay: disconnected High voltage battery module fan 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 21 Test point 2 Battery fan relay 4P socket (female terminal) No. 4: Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 13
NO
Repair an open in the IGHLD2 wire between the battery fan relay and the battery condition monitor module (E21).
- Shorted wire check (IGHLD2 line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P): disconnected Battery fan relay: disconnected High voltage battery module fan 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 Battery condition monitor module connector E (32P) No. 21 Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1 MΩ or more?
YES
Replace the high voltage module fan .
NO
Repair a short in the IGHLD2 wire between the battery condition monitor module (E21) and the battery fan relay. If the wire is OK, replace the battery condition monitor module .
