DTC P1D99 : PCU Electric Coolant Pump

DTC (Electric Powertrain)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-5. Select the ELECTRIC WATER PUMP TEST in the Electric Powertrain FUNCTION TEST with the HDS. Then do the START.
Electric Water Pump Test
-6. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P1D99 PCU Electric Coolant Pump Is DTC P1D99 indicated?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure. The system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- Fuse check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Check the following fuse.
Fuse No. A13 Is the fuse OK?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Replace the No. A13 fuse. Also check for a short to ground on the No. A13 fuse circuit if needed.
- Relay check
-1. Remove the PCU electric coolant pump relay .
-2. Test the PCU electric coolant pump relay .
Is the relay OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Replace the PCU electric coolant pump relay.
- Open wire check (IGA line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode PCU electric coolant pump relay: disconnected Test point 1 PCU electric coolant pump relay 4P socket (female terminals) No. 3: Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Repair an open in the IGA wire between the PCU electric coolant pump relay and the IGHLD1 relay.
- Open wire check (PCU_EWP_RLY_OUT line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode PCU electric coolant pump relay: disconnected PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector: disconnected Test point 1 PCU electric coolant pump relay 4P socket (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector (female terminals) No. 4: Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 6.
NO
Repair an open in the PCU_EWP_RLY_OUT wire between the PCU electric coolant pump relay and the PCU electric coolant pump.
- Open wire check (PCU_EWP_RLY_CL-/IG_PCU_EWP line)
-1. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
PCU 33P connector -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode PCU electric coolant pump relay: disconnected PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector: disconnected PCU 33P connector: disconnected Test point 1 PCU electric coolant pump relay 4P socket (female terminals) No. 4: Test point 2 PCU 33P connector (female terminals) No. 33 Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 7.
NO
Repair an open in the PCU_EWP_RLY_CL-/IG_PCU_EWP wire between the PCU electric coolant pump relay and the PCU.
- Open wire check (PCU_W/P_NEWP/NEWP line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode PCU electric coolant pump relay: disconnected PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector: disconnected PCU 33P connector: disconnected Test point 1 PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 PCU 33P connector (female terminals) No. 7 Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
Go to step 8.
NO
Repair an open in the PCU_W/P_NEWP/NEWP wire between the PCU electric coolant pump and the PCU.
- Shorted wire check (PCU_W/P_NEWP/NEWP line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode PCU electric coolant pump relay: disconnected PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector: disconnected PCU 33P connector: disconnected Test point 1 PCU electric coolant pump 4P connector (female terminals) No. 2: Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1 MΩ or more?
YES
Replace the PCU electric coolant pump , then recheck. If DTC P1D99 is still indicated, replace the PCU .
NO
Repair a short to ground in the PCU_W/P_NEWP/NEWP wire between the PCU electric coolant pump and the PCU.
