The MID does not display the audio unit information
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle 12 volt battery condition first .
- If the audio remote-HFL switch does not respond, go to Audio remote-HFL switch does not work properly (audio unit buttons work) troubleshooting .
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Select Audio and HFL from the multi-information display (MID) menu screen.
Are audio and HFL information displayed?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
NO
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
- Shorted wire check (LVDS2+ line, LVDS2- line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connectors.
Audio unit connector J (3P) Gauge control module connector C (3P) -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector J (3P): disconnected Gauge control module connector C (3P): disconnected Test point 1 Audio unit connector J (3P) No. 1 Test point 2 Body ground Test point 1 Audio unit connector J (3P) No. 2 Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1.0 MΩ or more?
YES
The LVDS2+ and the LVDS2- wires are not shorted to ground. Go to step 3.
NO
There is a short to body ground in the wire. Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Shorted wire check (LVDS2+ line to LVDS2- line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector J (3P): disconnected Gauge control module connector C (3P): disconnected Test point 1 Audio unit connector J (3P) No. 1 Test point 2 Audio unit connector J (3P) No. 2 Is there 1.0 MΩ or more?
YES
The LVDS2+ wire and the LVDS2- wire are not shorted. Go to step 4.
NO
There is a short in the wires. Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Shorted wire check (LVDS2 SH line to another lines)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The LVDS2 SH wire is not shorted. Go to step 5.
NO
There is a short in the wires. Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Open wire check (LVDS2+ line, LVDS2- line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector J (3P): disconnected Gauge control module connector C (3P): disconnected Test point 1 Audio unit connector J (3P) No. 1 Test point 2 Gauge control module connector C (3P) No. 1 Test point 1 Audio unit connector J (3P) No. 2 Test point 2 Gauge control module connector C (3P) No. 2 Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
The LVDS2+ and the LVDS2- wires are OK. Go to step 6.
NO
There is an open in the wire(s). Replace the affected shielded harness.
- Audio unit check (substitution)
-1. Substitute a known-good audio unit.
-2. Reconnect all the connectors, and recheck.
Does the symptom go away?
YES
Replace the original audio unit .
NO
