Pinpoint Test F : The Roof Opening Panel Shield Does Not Open Or Close: Notes
Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL for schematic and connector information.
The roof opening panel must be initialized when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system or when the roof opening panel motors, glass, assembly, or air deflector has been removed or replaced for any reason. REFER to: Power Roof Opening Panel Initialization - Vehicles With: Panoramic Roof Opening Panel.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The roof opening panel primary motor receives voltage from the accessory delay relay when the ignition is in the ACC or RUN position. The primary motor communicates ignition state to the roof opening panel shield motor along the K-Bus communication circuit. The overhead console switch supplies signals to the roof opening panel shield motor to operate the roof opening panel shield. A failure in the power circuit, ground circuit, switch signal circuit or K-Bus circuit, an internal failure of the switch or shield motor all cause the roof opening panel shield to become inoperative.
