Power Roof Opening Panel Initialization

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 Lincoln MKZ. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Initialization

WARNING: Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure. During the initialization procedure, the glass panel closes with high force and cannot detect objects in its path. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE: A new roof opening panel must be initialized after installation. Until the drive assembly has been initialized, the express open and close switch inputs are disabled.
NOTE: The roof opening panel initialization procedure must be done when repairs are carried out on any part of the roof opening panel system, or when excessive false reversals are experienced.
NOTE: If the roof opening panel glass is very close to proper alignment specifications, this procedure may align the glass.
