- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
- According to the detected DTC(s), check for the power circuit and the ground circuit of the control unit which cannot communicate with battery condition monitor module B.

DTC (Electric Powertrain)
- CAN gateway system DTC check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Check for CAN gateway system DTCs with the HDS.

Are any DTCs indicated?
YES
Go to the troubleshooting for CAN gateway system DTC(s) .
NO
Go to step 2.
- F-CAN circuit communication check (Receiving control unit)
-1. Select the Function Test in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

Bus A is Not Available
Go to step 3.
Bus A is Available
Go to step 5.
- Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line) 1
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-3. Remove the service plug .
-4. Disconnect the following connectors.
IPU 33P connector CAN gateway 16P connector -5. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire and/or the F-CAN A_L wire between the IPU and the CAN gateway.
- Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line) 2
-1. Remove the IPU .
-2. Remove the IPU cover .
-3. Disconnect the following connector.
Battery condition monitor module B connector G (24P) -4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

YES
The F-CAN A_H wire and the F-CAN A_L wire are OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTC(s) or symptoms you are troubleshooting or substitute a known-good battery condition monitor module B .
NO
Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire and/or the F-CAN A_L wire between battery condition monitor module B and IPU 33P connector.
- F-CAN circuit communication check (Transmitting control unit)
-1. Select the Function Test in the CAN gateway with the HDS, then select the F-CAN Bus Connected Unit Check.

-2. According to the detected DTC on the following table, make sure that the transmitting control unit detects the CAN gateway Bus channel(s) normally.

U1603: Battery condition monitor module A is Not Available for Bus A
Go to step 6.
U1604: PCU (traction motor control module) is Not Available for Bus A
Go to step 6.
U1605: PCU (generator motor control module) is Not Available for Bus A
Go to step 6.
- Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line) 1
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
According to the detected DTC on the following table, disconnect the transmitting control unit connector(s).
NOTE:- Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait for more than 1 minute.
- Before disconnecting the PCU connector, do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure , and remove the service plug .
- Before disconnecting the battery charge control module connector, do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
- Before disconnecting the IPU connector, do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure , and remove the service plug .

According to the detected DTC on the following table, substitute the correspond control unit.
DTC Operation for transmitting control unit U1207 Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the electric A/C compressor. Substitute a known-good electric A/C compressor . U12B2 Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the climate control unit. Substitute a known-good climate control unit . U1600 Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the PCM. Substitute a known-good PCM . U1604 Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the PCU. Substitute a known-good PCU . U1605 Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the CAN gateway and the PCU. Substitute a known-good PCU . YES (U1603)

Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire or the F-CAN A_L wire between the transmitting control unit and the CAN gateway.
- Open wire check (F-CAN A_H line, F-CAN A_L line) 2
-1. Remove the IPU .
-2. Remove the IPU cover .
-3. Disconnect the following connector.
Battery condition monitor module A connector G (24P) -4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Repair an open in the F-CAN A_H wire or the F-CAN A_L wire between the IPU 33P connector and battery condition monitor module A.
- Open wire check (F-CAN B_H line, F-CAN B_L line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait for more than 1 minute.
-3. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure .
-4. Disconnect the following connector.
PCM connector A (50P) -5. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
