DTC: U0029-00

DTC U0029-00  : CAN Communication Failure (Bus OFF)

NOTE: 

• Troubleshoot any PGM-FI DTCs first - Refer to:

  How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems, or

  How to Troubleshoot the A/T System (6-Speed A/T), or

  How to Troubleshoot the A/T System (9-Speed A/T)

  How to Troubleshoot the Brake Booster Pressure Monitoring System .

DTCs (VSA)

1. DTC check

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   - 2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   - 3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.

   - 4. Check for F-CAN circuit DTCs with the HDS.

   U0029 CAN Communication Failure (Bus OFF)

   Are any DTCs indicated?

   YES 

   Go to the troubleshooting for F-CAN circuit troubleshooting - Refer to:

   F-CAN Circuit Troubleshooting (6-Speed A/T) (2016 2017 2018) or

   F-CAN Circuit Troubleshooting (9-Speed A/T) (2016 2017 2018) or

   F-CAN Circuit Troubleshooting (6-Speed A/T) (2019 2020 2021) or

   F-CAN Circuit Troubleshooting (9-Speed A/T) (2019 2020 2021) .

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the Freeze data/on-board snapshot.
