Front Passenger's Airbag Replacement: Removal

  1. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
  2. Remove the glove box (see PASSENGER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Disconnect the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector (A).

  4. Remove the mounting bolts (B).
  5. Remove the blower unit (see DUST AND POLLEN FILTER REPLACEMENT ).
  6. Remove the hooks (A) from the front passenger's airbag housing holes (B) of the dashboard upper panel.
    NOTE:
    • When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.
    • Take care not to damage the front passenger's airbag housing holes of the dashboard upper panel.
    • Take care not to damage the front passenger's airbag.

  7. Remove the other hooks (C) from the front passenger's airbag housing holes of the dashboard upper panel, then remove the front passenger's airbag from the dashboard upper panel.
