M/T model

  1. Do the auto idle stop system inspection (see AUTO IDLE STOP SYSTEM INSPECTION  ).

    Is auto idle stop working? 

    YES  -The system is OK at this time. If needed, refer to AUTO IDLE STOP CONDITIONS  .

    NO  -Go to step  2.

  2. Start the engine, and watch the gauge control module.

    Do any indicators come on or blink? 

    YES  -Do the troubleshooting for the system indicator that comes on or blinks.

    NO  -Go to step  3.

  3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  4. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  5. Do the All Systems DTC check with the HDS.

    Are any DTCs indicated? 

    YES  -Go to the INDICATED DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING .

    NO  -Go to step  6.

  6. Check the BRAKE SWITCH in the PGM-FI SYSTEM DATA LIST with the HDS.

    Does it indicate ON when the brake pedal is pressed and OFF when the brake pedal is released? 

    YES  -Go to step  7.

    NO  -Do the brake pedal position switch test (see BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SWITCH TEST ).

  7. Do the brake booster vacuum leak test (see MASTER CYLINDER INSPECTION ).

    Is the brake booster vacuum OK? 

    YES  -Go to step  8.

    NO  -Replace any leaking part(s) as needed.

  8. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  9. Press the brake pedal several times.
  10. Start the engine.
  11. Check BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE SENSOR (A) and BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE SENSOR (B) in the EVPS DATA LIST with the HDS.

    Does the brake booster pressure change from air pressure to vacuum pressure? 

    YES  -Go to step  12.

    NO  -Check for an obstruction in the brake booster pressure sensor vacuum line.

  12. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  13. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  14. Check for DTCs in the WIPER SYSTEM with the HDS.

    Are any DTCs indicated? 

    YES  -Go to the INDICATED DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING .

    NO  -Go to step  15.

  15. Check that HDS communicates with the GAUGES SYSTEM and the CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM.

    Does the HDS communicate with the GAUGES SYSTEM and the CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM? 

    YES  -Go to step  16.

    NO  -Go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting (see DLC CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING  ).

  16. Check for DTCs in the GAUGE SYSTEM with the HDS.

    Are any DTCs indicated? 

    YES  -Go to the INDICATED DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING .

    NO  -Go to step  17.

  17. Check for DTCs in the CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM with the HDS.

    Are any DTCs indicated? 

    YES  -Go to the INDICATED DTC'S TROUBLESHOOTING .

    NO  -Go to step  18.

  18. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  19. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), select the ECO screen on the MID.

    Is the outside air temperature reading (A) accurate? 

    YES  -The system is OK at this time.

    NO  -
