Intermediate Shaft Removal
- Drain the transmission fluid, then reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (see
TRANSMISSION FLUID INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT
).
- Remove the right driveshaft (see DRIVESHAFT REMOVAL
).
- Remove the heat shield (A).

- Remove the flange bolt (A) and the two dowel bolts (B).

- Remove the intermediate shaft (A) from the differential. Hold the intermediate shaft horizontally until it is clear of the differential to prevent damaging the oil seal (B).
