Is there continuity?
YES -Update the motor control module (MCM) if it does not have the latest software (see MOTOR CONTROL MODULE (MCM) UPDATE ), or substitute a known-good motor control module (MCM) (see SUBSTITUTING THE MCM ), then go to step 24 and recheck. If DTC U0110 is not indicated with a known-good motor control module (MCM), replace the original motor control module (MCM) (see MOTOR CONTROL MODULE (MCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ), then go to step 24.
NO -Repair an open in the wire between the motor control module (MCM) (A6) and G901 (see IMA MOTOR POWER CABLE (CARGO AREA BRANCH) (IA) ), then go to step 24.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Remove the motor control module (MCM) relay 1.
- Test motor control module (MCM) relay 1 (see
POWER RELAY TEST
).
Is the relay OK?
YES -Go to step 19.
NO -Replace motor control module (MCM) relay 1, then go to step 24.
- Check the No. B42 +B IMA1 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
YES -Go to step 20.
NO -
- Repair a short in the wire between the No. B42 +B IMA1 (7.5 A) fuse and motor control module (MCM) relay 1. Also replace the No. B42 +B IMA1 (7.5 A) fuse, then go to step 24.
- Repair a short in the wire between the motor control module (MCM) relay 1 and the motor control module (MCM). Also replace the No. B42 +B IMA1 (7.5 A) fuse, then go to step 24.
- Measure the voltage between rear relay block 8P connector (motor control module (MCM) relay 1) terminal No. 6 and body ground.Fig 3: Measuring Voltage Between Rear Relay Block 8P Connector (Motor Control Module (MCM) Relay 1) Terminal No. 6 And Body Ground
