Rear Seat Belt Replacement

NOTE: Check the rear seat belts for damage, and replace them if necessary. Be careful not to damage them during removal and installation.

Rear Seat Belt

1. Remove these items:
- Cargo floor lid Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Cargo Area

- Rear trim panel Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Cargo Area

- Rear seat

- Rear seat striker Service and Repair

2. Remove the lower anchor bolt.

3. Remove the rear side trim panel. Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Rear Side Area

4. Remove the C-pillar trim. Interior Trim Removal/Installation - C-Pillar Trim/Upper Quarter Window Trim

5. Remove the upper quarter window trim. Interior Trim Removal/Installation - C-Pillar Trim/Upper Quarter Window Trim






6. Remove the upper anchor bolt (A).






7. Remove the retractor bolt (A), then remove the rear seat belt (B) and the retractor (C).

8. If necessary, remove the seat belt protector (D).

9. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the anchor bolts before reinstallation.

- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten them to specification with a torque wrench.

- Check that the retractor locking mechanism functions as described. Testing and Inspection

- Before installing the anchor bolts, make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.





Seat Belt Buckle

NOTE: Take care not to tear or damage the seat covers.

1. Pull the rear seat up, and hold it with the strap.

2. Detach the hooks (A) and the clip, then remove the inner support cover (B).






3. Remove the center anchor bolt (A), and pull the seat belt buckle (B) out, then remove it.






4. Install the seat belt buckle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- Apply medium strength liquid thread lock to the center anchor bolt before reinstallation.

- Tighten the bolts by hand first, then tighten them to the specified torque.

- Make sure there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt buckle.

- Assemble the washers on the center anchor bolt as shown.
