Retrieving DTCs Using Scan Tool

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. If DTC exists, "D" indicator light on instrument panel will flash when ignition is turned on. To retrieve DTC using scan tool, turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under instrument panel, behind center console. See Figure. Turn ignition on. Scan tool will indicate DTC. Follow scan tool manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Once DTC is obtained, turn ignition off. Determine probable cause of fault. See DTC/FLASH CODE IDENTIFICATION  table. If any other DTC except those listed are displayed, see appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. For trouble shooting of DTC, see DIAGNOSTIC TESTS . If "D" indicator light does not flash or stays on at all times, see "D" INDICATOR LIGHT CIRCUIT CHECK .
