Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes: Notes

NOTE: During diagnostics, ensure "D" indicator light is not turned on by a fault in the PGM-FI system. The PGM-FI system controls the fuel injection system. To repair PGM-FI system, see appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. After PGM-FI system has been repaired, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . After DTCs have been cleared, road test vehicle for several minutes at speeds greater than 30 MPH and recheck DTCs.
NOTE: Before performing any diagnostic procedure, obtain radio anti-theft code from customer. Note radio preset stations, as radio stations and clock setting will be cleared. Radio anti-theft code must be re-entered to restore radio operation.
