Circuit Description

CKP produces 58X reference signal. PCM uses this information to calculate engine speed and crankshaft position. PCM compares number of 58X reference pulses to Camshaft Position (CMP) pulses. If PCM does not receive pulses on 58X reference circuit, DTC P0337 will set.
Conditions required to set DTC are:
- Engine cranking.
- No CMP sensor DTCs are set.
- CKP sensor signal is not present between 2 CMP pulses.
- CKP reference pulse is not detected within 24 CMP pulses.
