Circuit Description

CKP sensor produces 58X reference signal. PCM uses this information to calculate engine speed and CKP position. PCM compares number of 58X reference pulses to Camshaft Position (CMP) pulses. If PCM receives incorrect number of pulses, DTC P0336 will set.
Conditions required to set DTC are:
- Engine running.
- Extra or missing pulses detected between consecutive 58X reference pulses.
- Listed conditions detected in 10 of 100 crankshaft rotations.
