Circuit Description

PCM opens fuel injectors by grounding an injector driver circuit. PCM monitors voltage on each driver to detect a fault. If voltage is not what PCM expects to monitor (for example, due to an injector driver being shorted to voltage), a DTC will be set.

Conditions required to set DTC are:

Battery voltage is greater than 9 volts.
Engine is running.
Fuel pump is on.
When injector is commanded off, injector voltage is not equal to ignition voltage.
Listed conditions met for 5 seconds.
