Upper oil pan

- Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Drain the engine oil.
(Refer to Lubrication System - "ENGINE OIL ")
- Remove the lower oil pan.
- Remove the timing chain cover.
(Refer to Timing System - "TIMING CHAIN COVER ")
- Assemble the engine support fixture on the engine room.
(Refer to Suspension System - "SPECIAL SERVICE TOOLS ")
- Remove the front cross member.
(Refer to Suspension System - "FRONT CROSS MEMBER ")
- Disconnect the ATF warmer coolant pipe (A).
Tightening torque:
9.8 - 11.7 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.6 lb.ft)
- Remove the automatic transmission lower mounting bolts.
(Refer to Automatic Transmission System - "AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ")
- Remove the differential carrier assembly. (AWD Type)
(Refer to Driveshaft and Axle - "FRONT DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ")
- Remove the LH and RH engine mounting support bracket.
(Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE MOUNTING ")
- Remove the A/C compressor.
(Refer to Heating, Ventilation Air conditioning - "COMPRESSOR ")
- Remove the upper oil pan (A).

NOTE:- When removing the upper oil pan, be careful not to damage the mating surface between the upper oil pan and lower crankcase using the SST (09215-3C000).
Information
- Insert the SST between the upper oil pan and the lower crankcase by tapping it with a plastic hammer in the direction of the arrow (1).
- After tapping the SST with a plastic hammer along the direction of arrow (2) around more than 2/3 edge of the oil pan, remove the upper oil pan from the lower crankcase.
- Never use the SST such as a prybar with inserted between the upper oil pan and the lower crankcase. Otherwise, it may damage the blade of SST.
