Brake Pedal: Removal

  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering column shroud lower panel.

    (Refer to Body - "STEERING COLUMN SHROUD LOWER PANEL ")

  3. Remove the knee airbag.

    (Refer to Restraint - "KNEE AIRBAG (KAB) MODULE ")

  4. Disconnect the ICU connector.

  5. Remove the ICU (A) after loosening the bolt and nut.

  6. Disconnect the connectors (A) from the back side of the ICU

  7. Disconnect the stop lamp switch (A) and the pedal stroke sensor connector (B).

  8. Remove the snap pin (A) and clevis pin (B).

  9. Loosen the brake pedal mounting bolt and nuts (A) and then remove the brake pedal.

    Tightening torque: 

    16.7 - 25.5 N.m (1.7 - 2.6 kgf.m, 12.3 - 18.8 lb-ft)
