Installation Procedure

    Visually inspect the pins (1) on the brake master cylinder. If all of the pins are OK, proceed with installation. Ensure all pins extend to the same height, if any pins are bent or damaged, replace the brake master cylinder with the power brake booster and electronic brake control module.     Brake System Control Module (2) - Install

  3. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install and tighten the 4 NEW electronic brake control module bolts (1) in a crisscross pattern. Fastener Specifications

    Brake Master Cylinder Adapter (2) - Install

  6. Brake Master Cylinder Adapter Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Brake Pedal Retainer (1) - Install NEW

    Brake Master Cylinder (1) - Install

    Brake Master Cylinder Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Brake Master Cylinder Bracket Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications 

  11. Connect the electrical connector. (1)
  12. Remove the plugs from the brake master cylinder ports and the brake pipes.

    Brake Pipe Fitting (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications 

  14. Connect the electrical connector. (1)

    Radiator Surge Tank (2) - Install

  16. Radiator Surge Tank Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Outlet Duct Connector (2) - Install

  18. Turbocharger Outlet Duct Rear Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (4) - Install

  20. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Nut (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  21. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  22. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (5) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
  23. Turbocharger Outlet Duct Front Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube (1) @ Air Cleaner Outlet Duct - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    Oil Filler Cap (1) - Remove

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Install

  27. Oil Filler Cap - Install

    Brake Pedal Retainer (1) & Brake Pedal (2) @ Power Brake Booster Pushrod - Secure

  29. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  30. Perform the necessary programming and setup procedure: Control Module References
  31. Bleed the brake system. Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) , or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) 
  32. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir to the maximum-full level with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling 
  33. Check for brake system leaks.
