Installation Procedure
Brake Master Cylinder Gasket (2) - Install NEW
- Maneuver the brake master cylinder (1) into the vehicle.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Brake Master Cylinder Adapter Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Rear Brake Front Pipe Nut (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
Lubricate the brake master cylinder reservoir seals (2) with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Seal (2) - Install NEW [3x]
- Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir (1) - Install
Brake Master Cylinder Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Electrical Connector @ Brake Fluid Level Indicator Switch - Connect
- Electrical Connector @ Brake System Control Module - Connect
Brake Pedal Nut (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
- If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:
- Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
- Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
- Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Brake Pedal Push Rod Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Bleed the brake system. Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
- Check for brake system leaks.
Front Compartment Side Sight Shield (1) - Install
Front Compartment Side Sight Shield Retainer (1) - Install [3x]
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
