Installation Procedure

  1. GM5833056
    WARNING:

    Never install the passenger airbag module into the instrument panel assembly that airbag module chute is cut. This may cause incorrect deployment when the passenger airbag is deployed.

    Position the passenger air bag module (1) on the air bag chute.

    2. CAUTION:

    Make sure that the passenger airbag is installed into the chute completely.

  2. Push the passenger airbag module (1) into the airbag chute until the hooks of airbag module are seated completely.

    Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Left Side (2) - Install

    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Windshield Defroster Outlet Duct (1) - Install

    Windshield Defroster Outlet Duct Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Windshield Defroster Outlet Duct Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Right Side (2) - Install

  9. Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    With the aid of an assistant, install the instrument panel upper trim panel (1).

    1. Install the 2 harness retainers.
    2. Push the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) forward and downward to install placing it above the 4 front metal retaining tabs.
    3. Pull the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) rearward and push downward to install it into the 4 front metal tabs.
    4. Secure the retaining tabs.

    Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [11x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Airbag Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications 

  13. Connect the electrical connector.
  14. Install the retainer.

    Connect the electrical connectors.

  16. Instrument Panel Trim Pad - Right Side (1) - Install

    Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [8x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Trim Plate (2) - Install

  19. Instrument Panel Trim Plate Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Air Outlet Bezel (1) - Install

    Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Connect the electrical connector.

  23. Radio Front Speaker- Right Side (2) - Install
  24. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Radio Front Speaker Grille- Right Side (2) - Install

  26. Secure the retaining tabs.
  27. Radio Front Speaker Grille Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Radio Control Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Cover (1) - Install

  33. Secure the retaining tabs.

  35. Secure the retaining tab.

  37. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Trim Pad - Left Side (2) - Install

  39. Instrument Panel Trim Pad Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Air Outlet Bezel (1) - Install

    Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Connect the electrical connectors.

  43. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster (1) - Install

    Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications 

  45. Instrument Panel Fuse Block Access Hole Cover (1) - Install

    Connect the electrical connector.

  47. Radio Front Speaker- Left Side (2) - Install
  48. Radio Front Speaker Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Radio Front Speaker Grille- Left Side (2) - Install

  50. Secure the retaining tabs.
  51. Radio Front Speaker Grille Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Compartment (1) - Install

    Open the instrument panel compartment door.

  54. Instrument Panel Compartment Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Floor Console (1) - Install

  57. Connect the electrical connectors to the front floor console (1).

    Front Floor Console Retainer Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Floor Mat (1) - Install

    Tire Air Compressor (2) - Install

  66. Tire Repair Sealer and Tire Air Compressor Retainer (1) - Install and hand tighten

    Front Floor Console Extension Panel (1) - Install

    Front Floor Console Extension Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Install the left and right front floor mat (1).

  72. Return the seat to its original position.

    Connect the electrical connector.

  74. Forward Collision Alert Display (2) - Install
  75. Forward Collision Alert Display Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Auxiliary Wireless Communication Interface Antenna (1) - Install

  77. Secure the retaining tabs.
  78. Connect the electrical connector.

  81. Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

  92. Install the weatherstrip as necessary.
