Installation Procedure

  1. GM5830485

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Brace (4) - Install

    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  2. Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bracket Nut (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications 
  3. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Deflector (2) - Install
  4. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Body Control Module Bracket (2) - Install

  6. Body Control Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Serial Data Gateway Bracket (2) - Install

  8. Serial Data Gateway Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Radio Bracket (2) - Install

  10. Radio Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    With the aid of an assistant, position the instrument panel tie bar (1) into the vehicle.

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Brace Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications 

  15. Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications 
  16. Remove the support for the heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module.

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications 

  18. Body Hinge Pillar Outer Panel Hole Plug (1) - Install [4x]

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) - Install

  22. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Install [4x]

    Clean the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arms (3).

  24. Position the windshield wiper arms (3) on the windshield wiper transmission pivot shafts.
  25. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  26. Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap (1) - Install [3x]

    Front Fender Ornamentation Vent (1) - Install

  28. Front Fender Ornamentation Vent Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Compartment Side Sight Shield (1) - Install

    Turn the 3 front compartment sight shield retainers (1) a quarter turn clockwise to install.[3x]

  31. Close the hood.

    If required, realign the windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1) on the windshield.

  33. Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
  34. Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
  35. Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.

    Connect the wiring harness clips, electrical connectors of the body wiring harness (1).

    Body Wiring Harness Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications 

  38. Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  39. Connect the wiring harness clips, electrical connectors of the body wiring harness (3).

    Connect and position the wiring harness.

  41. Instrument Panel Wiring Harness (3) - Install
  42. Data Link Connector Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications 
  43. Instrument Panel Wiring Harness Ground Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Connect and position the wiring harness.

  45. Instrument Panel Wiring Harness (1) - Install

    Connect and position the wiring harness.

  47. Instrument Panel Wiring Harness (2) - Install
  48. Instrument Panel Wiring Harness Ground Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Starting at the front of the front side door sill garnish molding (1) engage the 2 retaining clips on the forward vertical wall on both sides of the vehicle.

    50. NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

  50. Front Side Door Sill Garnish Molding- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]

    Engage the retaining clips at the front of the side door sill garnish moldings (1) on both sides of the vehicle.

    52. NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

  52. Side Door Sill Garnish Molding- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]
  53. On both sides of the vehicle, install the front of the side door weatherstrips as necessary.

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator (2) - Install

  55. Instrument Panel Lower Insulator Retainer (1) - Install [4x]

    Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct (1) - Install

    Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

  59. Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install

    Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install

  61. Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct Retainer (1) - Install

    Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  63. GM5814867

    Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install [2x]

  64. Instrument Panel Carrier - Install - Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement
